Enjoyed reading this. I completely understand that melancholic visit of memory lane and the surprising emotions stirred up by certain places. Do you think it's like a form of acceptance of the next stage of life we are moving into after a period of a type of grief we didn't even realise we were in? And we can now look at our younger self, love her and smile.

Brilliant, loved reading this Claire. You’re right about how visiting old haunts can stir the emotions in unexpected ways.

For me they often serve as a little reminder of the things I longed for, that I now have and sometimes take for granted.

Like you returning to your lovely home, they remind me to be grateful for what I already have, as I long for the next experience on this ever evolving journey, 🥰
